Rainy Days

I haven't gotten anything done today. I did get up at 9:30 to go to our Hall Council "Retreat" briefly, but I was back by noon and we didn't really do enough to make me feel accomplished yet. The original plan was to go shopping with a few girlfriends, one of which just got her car on Sunday so we wouldn't have to take the bus, but that plan kinda fell through. I think we're going next week. Pray those dresses at Dillards are still 70% off or there will be some majorly pissed off girls next Saturday.

With shopping no longer a possibility, I returned to my dorm room and turned on my laptop. I figured I'd spend a few minutes on my laptop then start getting ahead on my reading. But as any facebook user knows, if you get on facebook for a "few minutes" you never actually are on it for a "few minutes." Next thing I know it's an hour later and I am in no hurry to get up. I was wrapped in my fuzzy pink blanket (Target :) ) and was all comfy on my bed. Perfect time for a nap!! This time, I was like "Oh, I'll take a quick nap, then wake up and do some homework for real." Not. So. Fast. I wake up about and hour and a half later, laptop still on my lap, still nice and warm and comfy. I still haven't gotten anything done today. I'm going to dinner in a little bit with friends but something tells me that won't lead to any homework either.

But for the record, this whole "lack of productivity" is not my fault. Do you want to know whos fault this is??

The Rain

I knew it was coming last night. The sky was dark and cloudy and the trees were shaking in the wind. I figured it would blow over and be nice by today, but not so much. I woke up to a full day of solid rain. Rainy days just have a talent for making people not want to do anything. They make you want to curl up inside under a cozy blanket, drink a warm drink, and sleep, read a book, watch a movie, anything warm. They do not inspire the intense need to go outside and jump in puddles, no matter how much fun it may be. The only reason people are usually outside during rainy days is because they have to be. And even if it does give me (and other people) a reason to wear your adorable college sweatshirts (Go Captains!!), cute rainboots, or fun umbrellas, it is still not worth having to walk around.

So, in all honesty, I wanted to get some work done today.
...Well, I tried to get some work done today.

...Okay, fine, I briefly contemplated getting work done today but decided against it. Rainy days just aren't meant for that type of thing. Now though, I have to go walk all across campus to get dinner so I think I'll put on my cute rainboots, grab my adorable umbrella, and go jump in a puddle.
